Jeffrey Boyko, President and Chief Currency Strategist
Jeffrey Boyko has broad international experience and is multi-disciplined, initially setting out with an engineering degree from his hometown of Winnipeg, Canada. His highly analytical mindset, confident decision making ability, and affinity for numbers has been very relevant in the success of his long career as a currency strategist which began in 1996. In 1997 he had the good fortune of being brought to luxurious Monaco as a chief currency trader for DynexCorp working directly with Peter Panholzer, a renowned top ranked currency trader. Mr. Boyko continues as a trader and director with DynexCorp, domiciled in Geneva, Switzerland, which provides independent currency portfolio management to corporate clients, financial institutions, hedge funds, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.
Mr. Boyko founded Castle Currency Management in 2000, the same year he obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation which is highly regarded in the financial community. His focus is to interpret the financial impact of being exposed to global currency fluctuations and to improve the financial outcomes (the bottom line) of Castle Currency customers. He continually analyzes foreign currency markets and then develops specific, custom currency management strategies based on the financial goals and restrictions of each individual client. In addition, he provides daily conversion strategies and hedging strategies on foreign currency markets for Castle Currency market subscribers. He has personally traded billions of dollars and advised on billions with strategies he has provided to companies.
Jeffrey is often a presenter and contributor at currency investment and risk management seminars. He is also a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals. Now residing in Austin, Texas, he spends his free time with his wife, daughter, and son traveling, exploring, or engaging in hockey, tennis, swimming and volleyball.
John De Pape, Vice President of Risk Advisory
John De Pape is an experienced risk management specialist working extensively in commodity and currency markets for over 25 years. Starting with a trading career with Cargill, he worked extensively in the agri-food industry before focusing on currency over the last 6 years. Having developed an excellent reputation for his work ethic, clarity of thought and attention to detail, Mr. De Pape is a highly sought-after risk management consultant to both industry and government agencies. For the Canadian Securities Institute, Mr. De Pape developed the training material for commodity and foreign exchange trading certification.
Featured in his career include risk assessment and program development projects for The World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture (IICA), Sydney Futures Exchange, and Winnipeg Commodity Exchange. Also, Mr. De Pape has been selected to work on various government (risk management) policy issues for The Federal Government of Canada, the Alberta Government and the Saskatchewan Government. He has worked as a risk management consultant with many of the “who’s who” of the North American food sector, most notably Maple Leaf Foods, George Weston Ltd., Molson Coors Canada, Novacap (private equity firm), ConAgra Foods Inc., InterBrau GmbH (Germany), the Canadian Wheat Board, Paterson Global Foods, and Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A.B. de C.V. (FEMSA).
Mr. De Pape s a member of the Treasury Management Association of Canada, the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters, and an affiliate member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals. As Vice President Risk Advisory at Castle Currency, he works with clients to develop a more thorough understanding of their currency exposures and risks through the development of risk management systems, hedge programs and currency management plans, processes and procedures to manage their risk. He works closely with clients to ensure effective execution of strategies developed by Castle Currency to ensure the best possible results.
Peter Panholzer, Managing Partner and Chief Currency Trader
Mr Panholzer, Castle Currency's affiliate in Europe is involved in the development and assessment of trading and hedging strategies. He provides market coverage during European trading times. Trading currencies for over 35 years, Mr Panholzer is one of the most experienced currency traders in the world. Often ranked and recognized as a top performing currency manager.
Mr Panholzer, holds a Master's Degree from the Technical University of Vienna. A Canadian citizen since 1979, he joined ContiCommodity Services (Canada) in the same year and was registered with CFTC and NFA as well as with the Ontario Securities Commission. In 1981, he transferred to Conti's branch office in Lugano, Switzerland. Mr Panholzer became one of Conti's foremost trading advisors, based on the success of his Magnum Currency Program. It is believed to be the first ever managed currencies-only program offered to the general public on a large scale, through Conti's worldwide operations. In early 1985, Mr Panholzer joined the London Mayfair office of E.F.Hutton & Company and became registered in the UK with SFA. He decided to become independent in 1988 and founded DynexCorp with administrative offices in Switzerland. Mr Panholzer is primarily responsible for the development of proprietary statistical computerised trading strategies. He is currently registered with NFA, and his performance is audited by Price Waterhouse and by Deloitte. Since 2008 his primary project is managing an investable currency index exclusively with Deutsche Bank London.
Marlene Harrison, Reporting and Supervision
Marlene provides reporting and supervisory functions. She also provides client service for overseas accounts.
Marlene passed the Canadian Securities Examination required for registration with Ontario Securities Commission and the Toronto Futures Exchange, and gained experience as account executive and stock index portfolio manager at Bache Securities, Toronto, Canada, Walwyn, Stodgell, Cochran, Murray, Toronto, Canada, E.F.Hutton & Co, London, UK, and Refco Futures Canada Ltd, before joining DynexCorp in 1990 in various organisational, administrative and supervisory functions.
